In February 2026, RAMP alumni company Code One Training Solutions opened its 100th training center in Apex, North Carolina. The occasion was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony that coincided with American Heart Month. Co-Founders Richard and Allison Shok began the company in 2007 as a dorm room startup at the University of Connecticut and have since grown it into an in-demand, multi-state training network.

Richard and Allison took their company through the RAMP In Residence accelerator in the Spring of 2023. They discovered RAMP at just the right time, as they were navigating a shift necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. “The program was incredibly valuable to our company,” said Allison. During RAMP In Residence, they were able to connect with mentors and learn new strategies that helped them successfully pivot from traditional in-person classes to a scalable, tech-centered CPR training model that has redefined the industry.

The 100th center in Apex represents Code One’s ongoing commitment to making high-quality CPR and advanced life support more accessible. Their company combines consistent standards with technology-driven, individualized instruction. Their innovative model makes it easier for healthcare professionals and community members to receive American Heart Association CPR training when it works for their demanding schedules without sacrificing quality instruction.

“Reaching 100 locations isn’t about growth for growth’s sake,” said Richard. “It’s about removing barriers. The medical community deserves training that’s both high-quality and practical to attend. We’ve worked hard to create a system that maintains consistency and accountability while giving people the convenience they’ve never really had in this space.”

Today, Code One now trains more than 20,000 medical personnel, emergency responders and citizen rescuers each year. All programs are delivered through the American Heart Association’s CPR Verification StationTM learning platform and include CPR, First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and additional courses. CodeOne operates as a verified American Heart Association Training Center.
