About The Speakers
Andrew Schroeder, MD: A 2018 graduate of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Currently in his 5th year of surgical training, Andrew is deeply engaged in the intersection of surgery, biomedical innovation, and machine learning. His interests focus on integrating cutting-edge technology into medical practice.
Jenna Altaii, BS: A 2023 graduate in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech. With a passion for health equity and education, Jenna is driven by a vision where engineering directly impacts and contributes to public health. Her interests lie in the potential of engineering solutions to make significant impact on improving care outcomes for underrepresented and underserved populations.
Leah Thomas, BS: A 2022 graduate in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech, Leah brings a creative perspective to healthcare innovation through her focus on human-centered design and usability. Her experience at Stryker Instruments and academic research has shaped her ability to create solutions that improve accessibility and the user experience.
